Advancing chemical recycling in Europe
The facility has been designed to convert post-consumer plastic waste into circular feedstock for the petrochemical industry, supporting the transition toward a more circular plastics economy.
From plastic waste to cicular feedstock
The first production line will process approximately 10,000 tonnes of plastic waste annually, with future expansion potential up to 40,000 tonnes per year through additional modular production lines.
Promeco S.p.A proprietary technology for advanced recycling
At the core of the plant is Promeco® proprietary chemical recycling technology, developed through years of industrial experience in advanced recycling solutions. Compared with earlier waste-to-fuel applications, the current technology enables recycled feedstock to be reintegrated into the petrochemical value chain, creating higher long-term industrial and environmental value.
The technological section supplied by Promeco® has obtained TÜV Rheinland certification, confirming compliance with relevant European technical and safety requirements.
Supporting the circular plastics economy
As chemical recycling continues to gain importance across Europe, projects such as the Kilpilahti facility demonstrate the growing role of scalable industrial solutions in supporting circularity within the plastics sector.
